Why VPS?

Self-Service Snapshots

Create a point-in-time snapshot of your VPS directly from the control panel before a major update, migration, or configuration change. If something goes wrong, roll back without opening a ticket. Snapshots are included with every plan — the quota varies by tier.

Full KVM Virtualization

Every VPS runs as a fully isolated KVM virtual machine on dedicated hardware — not a container, not shared kernel space. Your instance has its own virtualized CPU, RAM, and storage. What your neighbors do doesn't affect your environment.

ZFS-Backed Storage

Your VPS storage runs on ZFS — a filesystem built for data integrity, with checksumming at the block level and copy-on-write architecture that makes snapshots fast and reliable. It's why our snapshot feature works the way it does.

Dedicated Resources

Dedicated Resources. Unmetered Bandwidth.

Every VPS plan comes with dedicated CPU, RAM, and storage — resources allocated to your instance, not shared with neighbors. Bandwidth is unmetered with a fair use policy, backed by a 40G internal network with no artificial caps.
Scale When You Need To

Start with the plan that fits your current workload and upgrade when your needs grow. Resource changes require a ticket or plan upgrade — we'll work with you to migrate to a higher tier with minimal disruption. Not sure which plan to start with? Contact us and we'll help you size it right.

VPS Hosting Features

Full Root Access

You get root. Install any package, modify any config, run any service your workload requires. No restrictions on what software you can run or how you configure the environment.

Control Panel Access

Manage your VPS from the web — reinstall the OS, reboot, access the NoVNC console, and monitor resource usage without touching SSH. Self-service OS reloads available for all supported distributions.

Owned Hardware, No Caps

VPS instances run on hardware we own and operate — no third-party cloud layer, no shared uplinks to an oversold provider. There are no artificial bandwidth caps. Usage is subject to a fair use policy; sustained traffic that consistently impacts other tenants may require a plan upgrade.

rDNS / PTR Records

Update reverse DNS records for your IP addresses from the control panel. Outbound mail (port 25) is restricted by default — open a ticket if you need it enabled and we'll review your use case.

IPv6 Included

Every VPS plan includes an IPv4 address and IPv6 allocation at no extra charge, routed through the same carrier-neutral Kansas City network as our dedicated server fleet.

Well-Connected Infrastructure

Your VPS sits inside a network with a 40G internal fabric and direct uplinks to KCIX and SIX — the same carrier-neutral facility and peering ecosystem as our dedicated server fleet. Low-latency routing to the Midwest, Mountain West, and Pacific Coast, without the shared-uplink bottleneck common in budget VPS hosting.
VPS Use Cases

Example use cases of VPS hosting services by our customers

VPS for eCommerce

Run your online store on a server with dedicated resources — consistent performance under traffic spikes, full control over your stack, and no shared hosting limitations holding back your platform.

Development & Staging

Run a dedicated development or staging environment that mirrors your production setup without risking live systems. Test deployments, validate configs, and break things safely before they matter.

Small Business Use

A VPS gives small businesses direct control over their hosting environment — run your website, CRM, email server, or internal tools on infrastructure you configure yourself, without shared hosting limitations.

Auxiliary & Management Tools

A VPS makes a practical home for the software that supports your main infrastructure — monitoring agents, log aggregators, backup targets, VPN endpoints, Docker containers, or internal dashboards. Keep your management plane separate from your production workload.

Testing New Web Apps

Spin up an isolated environment to test new applications, experiment with configurations, or validate deployments before they hit production. Tear it down and start fresh without affecting anything else.

WordPress Server

Run WordPress on a VPS you control — choose your own PHP version, configure caching, install any plugin without restrictions, and scale resources as your traffic grows. No shared hosting throttling, no platform limitations.

What is a VPS?

A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a virtual machine running on physical hardware — you get your own isolated environment with dedicated CPU, RAM, and storage, without paying for an entire physical server. Web of Nevada VPS instances run as KVM virtual machines on hardware we own and operate in our North Kansas City data center.
