Proxmox VE is a powerful open-source virtualization platform that lets you run multiple virtual machines and containers on your dedicated server. Our dedicated server plans are well-suited for Proxmox installations.
Before You Begin
- You will need IPMI access to mount the Proxmox ISO remotely. See the IPMI article in this section.
- Download the latest Proxmox VE ISO from proxmox.com/downloads.
- The installation will wipe the target drive.
Installation Steps
- Log in to your IPMI interface.
- Go to Remote Control and launch the KVM console.
- Mount the Proxmox ISO via Virtual Media in the IPMI interface.
- Reboot the server and boot from the virtual CD/DVD.
- Follow the Proxmox installer: select your target disk, set your timezone, enter a root password, and configure your network settings (use the IP address and gateway from your welcome email).
- Complete the installation and reboot.
- Access the Proxmox web UI at
https://YOUR_IP:8006.
Network Configuration
During installation, configure the management interface with your server's primary IP address. If you need additional IP addresses for VMs, contact support and we can allocate them.
